Eric Drifmeyer is a retired sergeant from the Barnstable Police Department (MA), where he served for 28 years. His roles included Crime Analyst, SWAT team member, Field Training Officer, Public Information Officer, and Assistant Director of the Citizens Police Academy. As sergeant, he supervised patrol shifts and led the Community Impact Unit, supporting individuals facing substance use, mental illness, and homelessness. Eric is now a Senior Project Manager at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), overseeing officer safety and wellness initiatives and developing a DOJ-funded online hate crimes training course. He holds a bachelor’s in criminal justice from Western New England University and a master’s from UMass Lowell.
