Ten Years Later: The President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing

In May 2015, the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing published its final report, identifying six pillars central to the future of the profession. Ten years later, what did the task force get right? This session, featuring several original task force members, will examine which recommendations have taken root in policing—and which have not. While some aspects of policing remain largely unchanged since the task force convened, many communities have seen significant and transformative progress. Panelists will share their observations on the evolution of policing over the past decade and explore the key drivers of change, drawing on examples from across the country.
