Misty Marra is a Forensic Science Manager at RTI International. She currently serves as a Co-Technical Assistance Director and Forensic DNA Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s (BJA) National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Training and Technical Assistance Program (SAKI TTA, the Forensic Services Project Manager for the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), and the TTA Coach/Strategist for the Forensics TTA Program supporting BJA’s Capacity Enhancement for Backlog Reduction (CEBR) programs.
With over 24 years of experience, Ms. Marra previously worked as a Forensic DNA Analyst, DNA Laboratory Coordinator, and Associate Graduate Faculty Member at the Marshall University Forensic Science Center managing laboratory operations for sexual assault kit testing projects and technical review of outsourced DNA projects with agencies and crime laboratories across the United States.
Ms. Marra specializes in forensic DNA applications, laboratory strategic planning, the development of effective sexual assault kit testing strategies, and the implementation of multidisciplinary responses to sexual assault.
