Stephanie Dorrell has been married to Ronnie Dorrell for 14 years, and they are proud parents of two children. With nearly 14 years of experience at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, she has taken on various roles in both civilian and commissioned capacities. Her professional background includes work in the Jail, Patrol, and Investigations Divisions. Recently, Stephanie worked as a Detective in the Special Victims Unit (SVU), focusing on crimes against children and collaborating with the Department of Human Services.
Stephanie was recently promoted to Sergeant and is overseeing the Crisis Response Team (CRT) and the Homeless Engagement Assistance and Resource Team (HEART) programs for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. She also assists in the training and administration of the Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) program organized by DCSO.
The significant events that transpired in 2016 had a lasting impact on her husband and family, motivating them to advocate for changes in the stigma and perception of mental health within the first responder community and to further enhance Critical Incident Preparedness for all first responders and their families.
