Alicia Romero is a pioneer in law enforcement family support. Alicia has held a multitude of positions in law enforcement, is a law enforcement daughter and spouse. Currently, Alicia is the Family Support Coordinator for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in Colorado and also for Colorado Fallen Hero, supporting families of fallen officers in Colorado.
A pivotal moment came during her role as the Aurora Police Family Liaison, where Alicia witnessed firsthand the toll law enforcement takes on families. In response, she founded "Beyond the Badge", a non-profit dedicated to providing officer and family support to agencies emphasizing wellness and people-focused initiatives. This non-profit has now expanded to include a business, by the same name, that provides family support to wellness-focused agencies. As staffing and bandwidth are often a hurdle to agencies providing Officer and family support, Beyond the Badge LLC provides experienced support and services to assist with recruiting, retention, and resilience.
Beyond the Badge's innovative programs reflect Alicia's belief that family support is integral to officer well-being, retention, and morale.
