Place Network Investigations (PNI) is a policing strategy focused on identifying and disrupting networks of locations that enable chronic crime problems, particularly violence. Unlike traditional approaches that target individual offenders or isolated incidents, PNI emphasizes the role of places—and, more importantly, the relationships between them—as key drivers of criminal behavior. Since 2020, Denver has adopted PNI as its flagship violent crime reduction strategy, gaining valuable insights along the way. As a sustainable and adaptable intervention, PNI offers a promising model for preventing violent crime in cities of all sizes.
