    Dr. David K. Tan is Medical Director of the St. Charles County (MO) Police Department, Chief Medical Officer & Medical Director of the St. Charles County Ambulance District, and Adjunct Professor of Emergency Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Tan is a member of Lexipol’s EMS1 Editorial Advisory Board and of the Police Physicians Section of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He also serves as a Tactical Physician for the St. Charles County Regional SWAT team, Chair of the Metropolitan St. Louis Emergency Transport Oversight Commission, and is Advocacy Chair and Past President of the National Association of EMS Physicians. Dr. Tan is a former principal member of the National Fire Protection Association's Technical Committee on EMS.
