Location: 403/404, Colorado Convention Center
A board-certified public safety psychologist with over a decade of daily experience in preemployment screening, as well as extensive research and graduate-level teaching in assessment, will review the functional and foundational competencies essential to employment screening for high-risk occupations. Major topics will include test reliability and validity, best practices in test interpretation and data integration, and the limitations of psychological testing and assessment. Common case examples will be presented to establish baseline understanding. The session will also review emerging tools and technologies, outline contemporary challenges, and illustrate a complex case study to demonstrate best practice application. Finally, the importance of skilled reporting and the use of post-hire performance data for continuous improvement will be discussed.
