Captain Julie Rodriguez is a 29-year veteran of the LAPD, with over two decades of supervisory experience. She has served as a patrol officer, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant Watch Commander, and Commanding Officer of Detectives. In December 2023, she was promoted to Captain at Wilshire Division, overseeing 200 officers, 25 sergeants, and four lieutenants. Julie holds a BA in criminology and sociology, an MS in law enforcement and public safety leadership and is a graduate of the LAPD West Point Leadership Program, Kennedy School of Government, and FBINA. She is the President of the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives and a board of trustee to the Los Angeles Women Police Officers and Associates organization. She is a member of the International Association of Women Police, California Women Leaders in Law Enforcement, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Latin American Law Enforcement Association. Julie is a powerful keynote speaker who has mentored thousands of employees in their quest for promotion. She is also a strong advocate for women in policing internally and at a national level.
