Sergeant Soltero has been with the Tucson Police Department for 19 years. He has worked in various assignments throughout his career and is currently assigned to the Special Investigations Section as the supervisor of the regional Gun Crime Intelligence Center. Sergeant Soltero is also a Task Force Officer assigned to the FBI Violent Crime and Gang Task Force in Tucson. He supervises state detectives and task force officers with FBI and ATF in support of a regional approach to reduce gun violence in Southern Arizona. Under Sergeant Soltero's supervision, the Tucson National Integrated Ballistic Information Network has expanded to serve over twenty-five federal, tribal and state law enforcement agencies. He is recognized as a leader in gun violence reduction strategies and most recently was awarded the 2024 United States Attorney's Office, "Federal Law Enforcement Partner Award". His investigative strategy centers around leveraging strengths of area partners, advanced investigative techniques and focused prosecution of prolific violent offenders.
