Cambridge (MA) Police Department
Superintendent Frederick Cabral joined the Cambridge Police Department in 2003. He
has more than a decade of supervisory experience and is viewed as an industry thought
leader locally, regionally, and nationally. He has served in a variety of units within the
department, including Patrol Operations, the Community Relations Unit, and the Family
and Social Justice Section. Cabral oversees the Support Services Division, which includes
the Criminal Investigations, the Family and Social Justice Section, Procedural Justice
Section, and Administrative Services for the department.
Superintendent Cabral has presented his work in numerous academic and clinical
settings.
Superintendent Cabral is certified in Trauma-Informed Policing and Mental Health First Aid
and is a regional instructor in Crisis Intervention Training.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Crime, Law and Deviance from Suffolk University.
