Curtis works within the Delinquency Prevention and Child Protection Division of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, where he works with nonprofits, local governments, and tribes in their efforts to develop and implement effective and coordinated delinquency prevention and intervention programs, and to improve the juvenile justice system to create safer communities and empower youth to lead productive lives.
Prior to this, Curtis served respectively as Executive Director for the NM State Commission for Volunteerism, and Program Officer and Grant Review Specialist for AmeriCorps where he worked to provide financial and human capital—people power—to strengthen community partners that, in turn, delivered services to communities across the country.
