As the Director of the Crisis Service Bureau with the Denver Police Departmnet, Chris Richardson has over 21 years of clinical expertise working with behavioral health populations that intersect with criminal justice systems and integrating sequential intercept planning into alternative criminal justice solutions. Operating as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Addictions Counselor, Chris oversaw the creation and growth of Denver’s Co-Responder Program in 2016, Civilian Response program (STAR) in 2020, and Court based assertive community treatment teams in 2018. Curently assisting with creation, implimentation and oversight of Denvers Road2Recovery Program which seaks to formally connect some of the highest utilizers of Criminal Justice systems to community based behavioral helath supports and stabalization. To its core, the Crisis Service Bureau seeks to be able to engage effectively in community collaboration, connect community partners with first responder programs to streamline and gain access to low barrier services, and most importantly serve the citizens of Denver in solution focused, individual driven way.
