Anthony Brooks is currently a captain with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. He has been with the department for 19 years, and currently oversees the MNPD’s Office of Alternative Policing Strategies (OAPS). OAPS manages the MNPD’s mental health co-response program (Partners in Care) where the MNPD partners with other city agencies, specifically the Mental Health Cooperative, to better serve citizens who may be experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Prior to being promoted to captain, Anthony served as the program manager for Partners in Care during the pilot phase and following. He also has served the MNPD as a supervisor in various patrol and investigative related functions. He has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communication from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
