Ms. Charona R. Lott is a dedicated advocate of violence prevention. She held the position of Program Director for Anti-Violence, Prevention & Outreach at the Miami-Dade County Juvenile Services Department since 2018. During her tenure, she was instrumental in launching key initiatives like the Miami-Dade County Anti-Violence Initiative, the Group Violence Intervention Program, and the Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program, all of which helped reduce gun violence in the areas most impacted by gun violence. Her expertise in this field has earned her speaking engagements at national conferences to share best practices. Employed by the Miami-Dade County Juvenile Services Department since 2006, Ms. Lott transitioned to Ummah Futures International in December 2023, where she serves as Director of Programs and oversees the City of Miami Police Department's Group Violence Intervention Strategy as Project Manager.
She holds a Master of Science degree in Justice Administration and is currently a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) candidate with a specialization in Sports Administration at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida.
