Dr. Daniel L. Hollar is Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and a tenured Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Bethune-Cookman University. He previously served 6 years as Chair of the Psychology Department. His scholarship centers on suicide prevention, trauma, resilience, and the intersection of mental health and law enforcement. He has authored a book and numerous peer-reviewed articles on suicide risk and trauma as well as a publication on resiliecney among police officers. With over a decade of experience in Florida’s largest forensic psychiatric hospital, Dr. Hollar conducted psychiatric evaluations, assesments, therapy, and provided expert testimony for the State of Florida. He has consulted for the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of Children and Families, and worked in private practice for more than 10 years. Internationally, he's conducted program evaluations and served as a discussant at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. Nationally, he delivered multiple trainings for Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC), the Chicago Police Department, and the University of Pennsylvania Police Department.
