Dr. Cohen is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized education, training, and supervision in forensic and police and public safety psychology, with particular emphasis on psychological assessment for public safety personnel.
Since entering the field in 2021, Dr. Cohen has conducted over 4,000 pre-employment, specialty assignment, and fitness-for-duty psychological evaluations. He also provides post-critical incident debriefings, annual wellness visits, and consultation to agencies on best practices in psychological hiring, service delivery, and officer wellness initiatives, as requested.
Dr. Cohen is a member of the American Psychological Association’s Division 18 (Psychologists in Public Service) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). He currently serves on the Ethics and Education Committees of the IACP’s Police Psychological Services Section (PPSS). He is licensed to practice psychology in Colorado, New York, and Louisiana, and holds PSYPACT authorization to provide telepsychology services in 41 additional states and jurisdictions.
