Lieutenant Robert Bean, a 24-year veteran of law enforcement, initially served as a deputy sheriff with a southern California sheriff’s office before joining the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
In 2019, Lieutenant Bean joined the LAPD’s Information Technology Bureau, where he has held positions as a sergeant and lieutenant. During his tenure, he has overseen numerous significant transformation projects and managed various multi-million-dollar initiatives. As a member of LAPD’s Incident Management Team No. 2 in the Planning section, he contributed to the planning and response for the 2024 Dodgers' World Series and the Palisades Fire. Currently, he continues in this capacity, supporting the planning efforts for the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
