Dennis L. Larsen is the 41st Chief of the Tulsa Police Department, appointed in 2024. He manages over 800 sworn and 200 civilian personnel, with a $165 million annual budget, protecting 405,000 Tulsa citizens. Before becoming Chief, he served as Deputy Chief for over 17 years, overseeing Investigations, the Forensics Lab, Fleet Management, and commanding the Operations Bureau, managing over 500 officers. He also held the rank of Major, leading Special Operations and two Uniform Divisions.
Chief Larsen holds certifications in FBI Hazardous Devices and Weapons of Mass Destruction, Domestic Preparedness, Homeland Security Infrastructure Protection, and US Secret Service Dignitary Protection. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Oklahoma State University and is a graduate of the FBI's 185th National Academy and 42nd National Executive Institute. His vision centers on community collaboration, ensuring safety and prosperity for Tulsa citizens without fear of crime. He advocates for professionalism, fair leadership, and transparency within the department.
