Brian Pedro is serving as the City of Sacramento’s Incident Commander for an Incident Management Team created to implement the citywide Homeless Response aimed to reduce the response time for homelessness 311 calls for service and expeditiously provide city encampments outreach services while concurrently ensuring compliance with city and state codes.
Brian also serves the City of Sacramento as the Director for the Department of Community Response. This department deploys outreach specialists trained to provide homeless support services and management of city homeless emergency shelters.
Prior to joining the City of Sacramento, Brian completed a 25-year career with the Reno Fire Department where he held various positions and retired as an EMS Chief.
Brian began his military career in 1984 as an active-duty Security Policeman in the U.S.A.F. and retired in June 2025 from the Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel, at Travis AFB, California.
Brian graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and holds a current CA Registered Nurse license, and a master’s degree in Military Operational Leadership from Air University.
