Salomé studied Political Science at Willamette University and worked her way through college working for different elected leaders and agencies. She was the Public Policy and Advocacy Director for Unite Oregon and the Urban League but was a lobbyist for many of the grassroots organizations that didn’t have a full-time lobbyist on staff. Salomé led the effort to make racial profiling officially illegal in Oregon and went on top provide oversight and program management of bias/profiling complaints, implicit bias training and more for all law enforcement in Oregon. She’s also a co-founder of the Black Resilience Fund – an emergency fund for Black Portlanders who need help paying their bills or finding services during 2020. She currently serves as the Policy Advisor to Multnomah County Commissioner Shannon Singleton.
