Dave Fontneau is the Director of the Technology Division for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in Southern California. In this role he serves as the CIO for the Sheriff. Dave leads a team of 150 professionals dedicated to serving the technology and communication needs of the 4,000 men and women of the Sheriff’s Department.
Dave and his team recently completed construction of the Orange County Sheriff’s Technology Center. This unique multi-jurisdictional “Technology Incubator” provides an unprecedented space where innovation and collaboration are celebrated. This state-of-the-art space breaks the norms of traditional law enforcement facilites and is modeled after a silcon valley startup.
Having served as Chief of Police, Dave brings over 40 years of law enforcement leadership to his role with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Dave has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice management and is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police with the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF). In his free time Dave enjoys teaching and presenting on the topics of Leadership and Innovation in Policing.
