Sergeant
Denver Police Department
Denver
Sergeant Raymond Sheridan is assigned to the Denver Police Academy, where he has overseen recruit training and academy staff since April 2024. He supervises over 1,000 hours of instruction in law, arrest control, firearms, emergency driving, and community engagement. Prior to this, he served as the District 3 Training Sergeant, coordinating recruit transitions to patrol and field training. While in District 3, he also served eight years as the CIT Coordinator, working with Co-Responders and supervisors to improve responses to high-frequency mental health calls. Before that, he was a Training Corporal in District 6 for eight years, mentoring new officers in the field training program. Sheridan began his leadership journey in the U.S. Army (1998–2001), where he served as a corporal on an infantry team with a focus on tactical operations. His combined military and police experience supports his mission to develop capable, community-focused officers.
