Edward Tjaden currently serves as Chief of Police in York, Nebraska. His 26-year law enforcement career is grounded in small agency service and includes progression through the ranks, forensic child interviewing, narcotics investigations, and departmental training. For the past eight years, he’s led with a focus on mission-driven culture, leadership development, and organizational accountability. Edward has presented nationally on the importance of policing culture and serves as an adjunct professor in organizational leadership and criminal justice. He’s a vocal advocate for research and evidence-based policing, holding degrees in Criminal Justice Administration and Organizational Management. Edward is a graduate of Northwestern’s School of Police Staff and Command and an alumnus of the NIJ LEADS Scholars program.
