Theresa “Tess” Olson is President of Tess Marie Consulting, where she advises public safety and human services agencies on strategy, resource development, and organizational transformation. She currently serves as a consultant to The Way Forward, Public Safety for All, and The Center for Applied Psychology and Forensic Studies. As an executive leader with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office from 2012 to 2022, she helped propel the Department of Corrections to federal compliance, ending a 40-year consent decree, and founded the EMPOWER Movement to advance staff wellness and trauma-informed care. Her expertise lies in redesigning systems that elevate both organizational performance and the humanity of those who serve within them.
