Terrence Gordon is a nationally respected law enforcement executive with 30 years of experience leading change and strengthening public safety. He most recently served as Chief of Police in Thornton, Colorado, where he led efforts to modernize strategies, improve officer wellness, and elevate trust. He previously served for 25 years on the Milwaukee Police Department, retiring as Assistant Chief.
Gordon has held command roles in all aspects of policing, and is a recognized voice in law enforcement innovation and policy, contributing to legislative, management, and systemic changes in policing. He advises police department and other public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and leadership teams nationwide, focusing on policy, culture, training, and leadership. He has been an instructor of the IACP’s Leadership in Police Organization’s (LPO) course since 2011.
Gordon is a graduate of LPO, the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a master’s degree in Criminal Justice, and a Ph.D. in Business Psychology.
