Erin Burke is a Deputy Special Agent in Charge (DSAC) with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Houston, Texas. She oversees a workforce of 382 personnel across five offices covering 54 counties in Texas. In her current role, DSAC Burke provides operational oversight of Houston’s Homeland Security Task Force; two Resident Agent in Charge offices; and specialized investigative groups focused on gangs and violent crime, counter-narcotics, fentanyl suppression and abatement, national security, worksite enforcement, human smuggling, human trafficking, document and benefit fraud, and intelligence operations.
Previously, DSAC Burke served as Division Chief and Acting Deputy Assistant Director for HSI’s Countering Transnational Organized Crime, Public Safety, and National Security Division, and several leadership roles within HSI's Child Exploitation Investigations Unit within HSI’s Cyber Crimes Center. Prior to her headquarters service, she was a Supervisory Special Agent in HSI’s Seattle Field Office.
Ms. Burke began her federal law enforcement career in 2003 and holds a Master of Forensic Science degree from The George Washington University.
