Tarrick McGuire is the 16th Chief of Police for the Alexandria Police Department, bringing over 20 years of law enforcement experience. Formerly Assistant Chief in Arlington, Texas, he led initiatives in community engagement, youth mentorship, crime reduction, and unmanned aircraft systems. A nationally recognized speaker and published author, he is a leading voice in community-police relations and public policy. He served on the Council on Police Reform and Race and worked with the DOJ COPS Office and the Obama Administration to advance 21st Century Policing. He created the Mentoring Arlington Youth Program that became a nationwide model to improve relationships between youth and police and reduce recidivism. Chief McGuire holds a Doctorate in Public Administration, a master’s from Criswell College, and a bachelor’s from Oklahoma State. He is a member of the Evidence-Based Policing Hall of Fame for his contributions to modern policing strategies.
