Daniel Moskowitz is a Lieutenant with the Sunnyvale (CA) Department of Public Safety, a fully integrated police and fire agency. With 26 years of experience in public safety operations, emergency management, and wellness programming, he builds systems that support responders and families before, during, and after critical incidents. He chairs the Santa Clara County Public Safety Wellness and Resiliency Symposium, which brings together law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch leaders to share strategies that enhance workforce wellness and operational readiness. Daniel leads Sunnyvale’s Wellness Unit and coordinates the countywide Peer Support Group, providing mutual aid and cross-agency support for officers, firefighters, and dispatchers. As Sunnyvale’s Emergency Manager, he oversees preparedness planning, citywide training initiatives, and Emergency Operations Center activations. He focuses on practical, scalable strategies to strengthen resilience and embed organizational wellness into public safety culture.
