Public Health-Informed Policing: ​From Traffic Safety to Gun Violence

Fostering police and public health collaboration can improve agency efficiency and community safety by employing evidence-based practices and force-multiplying partnerships; incorporating new voices to enhance community policing efforts; creating effective, data-driven policy decisions; and establishing a system-wide approach that combines tools, resources, cooperation, and support from partners. This Quick Hit session will discuss best practices for enhancing public health collaboration and highlight resources from IACP's Public-Health Informed Policing initiative.
