Building legitimacy, trust, and confidence depends on an effective and representative police service operating within an integrated criminal justice system. This session will examine how policing and justice reforms—along with oversight and accountability mechanisms at both political and community levels—continue to shape Northern Irish society. Once described by Interpol as one of the most dangerous places in the world to serve as a police officer, Northern Ireland is now considered one of the safest regions in the United Kingdom.
