Criminal Justice Records and Compelling Public Interest

This presentation will focus on CORA and CCJRA, and how our agency has adapted to changes in statutes related to internal affairs cases, including HB 19-1119, the Law Enforcement Integrity Act (HB 21-1250), and the proactive release of OIS videos—reflecting our commitment to transparency and building public trust. We will discuss required disclosures (records of official action), discretionary disclosures (Harris factors), and prohibited disclosures (statutorily protected information, sealed cases, juvenile records, and sexual assault cases).
