Mitigating Institutional Betrayal Trauma for Police and Public Safety
Tuesday, October 21, 2025
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM MT
Location: 403/404, Colorado Convention Center
Invisible injuries stemming from miscommunication, a lack of clear rationale in employer–employee decision-making, and the absence of closure can significantly affect the workplace environment—particularly for today’s law enforcement officers. These unresolved issues may cause emotional pain, turmoil, and trauma, stunting professional growth and fueling frustration. Left unaddressed, such experiences can lead to a cascading effect of anger, sadness, despair, depression, anxiety, shame, and feelings of betrayal. Without healthy attention and treatment, these challenges may also contribute to declining employee retention. This session will explore how shifting perspectives and fostering resilience—through a solution-focused approach—can support the well-being of personnel and strengthen 21st-century policing.
