    The newly established Public Policy Committee of the IACP Police Psychological Services Section is committed to ensuring that policy changes align with best practice standards in psychological services. This panel will highlight legislative and regulatory inconsistencies and propose solutions to enhance the legal integrity and professionalism of psychological services nationwide. The presentation will educate participants on the impact of these inconsistencies on hiring practices, officer wellness, and the overall effectiveness of law enforcement personnel. It will also outline the committee’s plans to address these issues and align regulations with best practices, while offering actionable recommendations to strengthen the legal framework and elevate professional standards in the field.
