Presentation 1: Officer Down: Optimizing Self-Aid, Buddy Aid, and EMS Integration
When an officer is critically injured in the line of duty, every second counts. Delays in self-aid, intervention by fellow officers, or EMS access can result in preventable deaths. Law enforcement personnel must be trained and confident in essential life-saving skills such as hemorrhage control, airway management, and casualty extraction. Because EMS may not be able to enter the hot zone, officers must be equipped and prepared to respond effectively to life-threatening injuries in high-risk environments.

Presentation 2: Law Enforcement Resuscitation, Heart Health, and Community Impact
Deputy Sheriff and sudden cardiac arrest survivor Brandon Griffith will discuss the physiological toll the law enforcement profession takes on officers’ health. This session will explore innovative approaches and technologies for emergency medical response within law enforcement, as well as the powerful role officers play in improving out-of-hospital survival rates for time-sensitive medical emergencies. Attendees will gain insight into the intersection of officer wellness, cardiac health, and community impact.
