An Innovative Approach to Modernising Frontline Policing in Ireland

This session will cover the successful delivery of a major innovation initiative: the Mobility Project in An Garda Síochána. More than 15,000 Garda members now use fully featured mobile devices that have increased productivity and significantly reduced paperwork. This multifaceted solution—delivered by a diverse team—introduced agile working, user-led design, innovation strategies, creativity, and branding across the organization. The initiative provided actionable insights, demonstrable data and dashboards, and user-centric research. Each mobile device is equipped with a range of frontline policing apps that enable members to remain in the field for the majority of their shifts.
